Jacksonville, FL
Mixed media painter, Myah Freeman, was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up, she had a unique gift for creating but it wasn’t until her collegiate years that she found the purpose behind her work. (FSU BFA, 2021) Her art reflects her interest in Ancestry and the lineage boundaries placed on the modern-day Black family, due to slavery. In addition, she uses the Northern Cardinal as an Ancestral symbol representing the spirits of her loved ones.
As a teenager, Freeman established her art business, MyahnArt, making her talent and skill available to the public. She’s been commissioned for works and services including murals, live painting, portraits of influential figures, custom merchandise, logos, illustrations, and more. Freeman also has a track record of art teachings within institutions including MOCA Jax, LeMoyne Arts Tallahassee, and DCPS. Freeman is continuously working to expand her name and business through shows and by providing creative services to all.
