Charlotte, NC
Michelle Gregory, "Bunny," a Charlotte, NC native, holds a fashion illustration degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She led Creatrix's design department post-graduation and has been a costume designer with Moving Poets since 2000.
In 2010, a transformative artist residency in Berlin enriched her journey. Growing up in an era lacking platforms for Black artists, Bunny's love for hip hop and pop art led her to establish the UNDERGROUND in 2014. It quickly became a vital hub for urban artists, musicians, and poets.
In 2017, Creative Loafing Magazine hailed her as the "Queen Mother of Charlotte's Underground Hip Hop." Presently, Bunny has launched the UNDERGROUND Mobile Art Studio, empowering young Black artists, especially in her West Charlotte community. Her mixed-media work, influenced by Afrocentric culture, addresses racial and economic disparity through illustration, comic-style art, pen & ink, and collage on reclaimed boards.
