Prior to relocating to South Carolina in 2013, Kevin lived and worked in New York City, where he initiated his Black Painting Series. This body of work interrogates the enduring tension between humanity and the natural world, addressing the philosophical and moral dimensions of that relationship. His more recent work, Charon--conceived as a digression or conceptual offshoot from the series--is a meditation on loss, fate, and the dire repercussions of human depravity.
