Taylor Overbey

Taylor Overbey is a versatile artist, author, and educator whose whimsical creations blend painting, illustration, and storytelling. Holding an MFA in Fine Arts Painting and a BFA in Digital Media from Ferris State University, along with an EdD in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Louisiana, he teaches in the Foundations Department at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. Overbey's oil paintings and mixed-media works explore existential themes and secular stories, earning recognition in exhibitions like the Provocative Artist Exhibit at Lotus Contemporary Art. As an author-illustrator, he creates heartfelt children's books inspired by his own family, including The I-Wants and the Gimmies (2016 EVVY Award winner), The Elephant in the Living Room, and The SNIT and George Franklin Whit.
