My work explores the tension between preservation and loss-what remains when care becomes a form of undoing. Through processes of casting, burning, and transformation, I translate domestic textiles such as crochet, lace, and fabric, into fragile ceramic remnants. These works are not simply objects, they are echoes, traces of what once was. Rooted in the maternal lineage of makers in my family, my practice draws upon the language of craft as both inheritance and burden. My mother sewed garments for the theatre, my grandmother taught through story and song. Their gestures live in the repetition of my own hands. In burning out the material they once would have saved, I confront the fear of forgetting and the tenderness of release. Each piece becomes an artifact of impermanence-a vessel where memory, devotion, and decay coexist. What I seek is not permanence, but the moment just before disappearance: the fragile stillness of what remains after care has done all it can.
