Holly Fischer is an Assistant Professor of Art and the Coordinator of the Ceramics Studio at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Meredith College and an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Fischer is known for her abstracted figurative sculptures in white clay that celebrate female empowerment. These works explore gender and sexual identity by examining dualities inherent in femininity and challenging stereotypes. Fischer has exhibited nationally at venues including the Mint Museum Uptown, Charlotte, NC; Greenville Museum of Art, Greenville, NC; Wayne Art Center, Wayne, PA; Umlauf Sculpture Garden, Austin, TX; Udinotti Museum of Figurative Art, Scotsdale, AZ. Recent accomplishments include a feature article in Walter Magazine in October 2024, a solo exhibition at UNC Pembroke in January 2025, and the Betsy J Sykes Award for Best-in-Show at the NC Artists Exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh in September 2025.
