This work reflects on human behavior-how we shape, disrupt, and inherit the world we make. Inspired by Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and its warning, "You will not be able to plug in, turn on, and cop out," it considers how avoidance becomes complicity. The painting moves between construction and erosion, between what's made and what's left behind. Layers carry contradiction, instinct and control, memory and invention, beauty and consequence. A lionfish and a warped hand appear-neither broken nor wrong, simply following their design. The fault, as always, lies in us-how we invent, displace, or ignore the cost of our intentions. Graffiti-like marks and textured fragments surface through, reminders that nothing is ever fully erased. History is what endures-and what we choose to see. The work doesn't explain, it questions. When do habits become harm? What do we normalize as progress? What happens when we stop caring that we might fail?
