I am a fiber artist whose journey began over 20 years ago as a traditional quiltmaker. ? While I enjoyed mastering technical skills, discovering art quilts transformed my creative process, allowing freedom beyond the rigid rules of traditional quilting. ? My work is often described as "painterly," featuring landscapes and scenes that reflect my rural Southern upbringing. ? I'm drawn to objects with history--rusty, ramshackle, or overgrown. ?

After a fast-paced career in real estate and mortgage banking, I embraced a slower life and found joy in creating art. ? As an introvert, I cherish time in my studio, experimenting with surface design, hand dyeing, and embellishments like beading. ? Hand stitching connects me to childhood memories of embroidery with my mom. ? When creating, I lose track of time, immersed in the process. ? Though I never considered myself artistic, sewing opened the door to self-expression, and I'm grateful for this journey.
