Children always show a myriad of expressions. They do not hide what they are thinking very well, but readily show in their countenance the thoughts going through their minds. When they experience a thought that is new to their understanding, they often stop what they are doing and dwell on the concept even if it is just for a moment. Their innocence surfaces as they contemplate the new awakening in themselves, but quickly move on with the activity at hand. Those intermittent experiences shape them gradually over time just as a lump of clay yields to the hands of the potter. As we mature, the clay hardens and we lose that innocence of youth. But, once in a while, an epiphany strikes us and brings back that moment of innocence and we are once again that child within. My grand daughter Ella was caught in such a moment of innocence. Her eyes can almost tell her thoughts within.
