Katelyn Chapman received her BFA with an emphasis in Drawing from Clemson University in 2014. Her work is inspired by her deeply rooted familial and rural ties to the South. While at Clemson, she was awarded the Harold Cooledge Award in Undergraduate Art History from Clemson University. Her work has been in both national and local group exhibitions. She rounded off 2016 with an exhibition at the Riverworks Gallery in downtown Greenville, SC, entitled “Drawn South". This year her work was selected for “Tri-Fecta,” an exhibition juried by Ridley Howard, featuring work from MFA candidates across the state of Georgia at the Ernest G. Welch Gallery at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Most recently Chapman was awarded the Wilson Center Graduate Research Award from the University of Georgia. In the upcoming year she will be published in Manifest Gallery’s 12th Volume of their International Drawing Annual, an internationally competitive juried book publication. Chapman is currently pursuing an MFA in Painting and Drawing at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
