Born and raised in Savannah, GA, I earned a BFA in Printmaking, Painting, and Sculpture from the University of Georgia in 1978-79. I received an MFA in Sculpture from Indiana University in 1983. I have held teaching positions at Newberry College (SC), the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville where I retired in 2016, after 31 years. During those years, I served a chair of the Department of Art and Art History for 8 years and as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts for 7 years. I live and have a studio in Union Hill, Alabama and am actively involved in producing sculpture. I am currently working on a monumental, public commission for Huntsville Hospital.
