Felicia Greenlee graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1993 and has been featured in Impact magazine in 2022 and American Craft's fall 2025 issue. She is South Arts 2025 South Carolina Fellow for visual arts and resides in upstate South Carolina with her husband.
Felicia conveys life experiences using the techniques of relief and collage. Working entirely of wood, I may incorporate paper and other mixed media. I use pine because it is a light material, and I can transform it using various techniques. Using a variety of saws and chisels, I cut and layer individual pieces of wood. After sanding, painting, and staining the pieces, I join them using wooden dowels, screws, brad nails and glue. The reference to America is unmistakable and may be notable in the name of the piece, or with the image of the American flag or the red, white, and blue colors.
