My work exists as visual poetry, transcending storytelling, ancestry, and transformation. My use of boat imagery is inspired by my grandfather, a retired sea captain who built miniature vessels, and by my father, a builder of homes and boats. Rooted in the traditions of ancient blacksmiths, diviners, healers, and spiritual alchemists, I explore the connection between earthly and cosmic realms. "Ethereal Walking Boat" embodies a vessel of passage, navigating the journey between life and death, matter and spirit. Influenced by Viking rituals of sending their dead to sea ablaze, this work symbolizes transcendence and transformation. Through repetitive nautical and celestial motifs, I investigate conduits between science and spirituality, the known and the imagined. The act of creating, through drawing, painting, and sculpting, is a meditation that quiets the mind and opens the heart to the infinite expanse beyond what we know.
