I am a long time commercial illustrator and designer, visual artist and educator currently residing in Virginia. The vast majority of my practice consists of drawing the figure from life, and doing painted composition based upon the models with whom I've worked. While my paintings involve narrative and conceptual elements, the drawings themselves are more immediate reactions to the model in the moment.

Recently, I've been exploring combining existing drawings of different models from different sessions into single combinations by weaving them together physically. The process has a large element of serendipity, as since I weave these from the back, I'd have no idea what they look like until the weave is completed. This process of both letting go of existing work, and discovering new permutations of that work is an exhilarating one.
