I was raised in a small farming town on the edge of a range of hills where I often spent many days wandering for miles without ever seeing another soul, but lots of wildlife. By the time I graduated from high school, there were freeways bisecting those hills, and most of the farmland was covered in housing, shopping malls, and industrial complexes. This destruction shaped the direction of my life. I became a social rebel, got a degree in biology, taught school for a number of years, and took art classes as I could afford to.



I was born coloring outside the lines and creating playthings out of scrap. Mixed media. Most of my work is social commentary about issues affecting our environment, which can be political, cultural, religious, etc. I paint in acrylic, make most of my frames, and use found objects pertinent to the subject, and I hope that people are attracted to them even if they don't get the message.
