"Warmth Through Wires" explores the tension between disconnection and intimacy in an increasingly digital world. Drawing inspiration from the futuristic technological promises of the 1970s and speculative headlines of the 1980s, the piece reflects on how our visions of the future promised connection but have often led to distance. Using candid photographs of people in everyday moments-alongside images of my friends and myself-I seek to capture small, human gestures of affection that persist amid the static of modern communication. Fleeting moments of connection: a glance, a touch, a laugh caught mid-motion can sometimes feel like half-digital, half-real memories even in the moment they occur. The work asks what it means to reach for one another when so much of our contact is filtered through screens, and whether warmth can still travel through the wires.
