I earned a BFA and a PhD from UGA and an MFA from VCU.
In NYC (1984-96), I worked as a Curatorial Assistant at The New Museum and the Guggenheim Museum. I was the Gallery Director/Curator for the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (1996-2001). I then taught painting at GSU for nine years, leaving to become the Curator for the Zuckerman Museum of Art. In 1916/17, I completed a Fulbright US Scholar residency working with the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin.
I am represented by Whitespace Gallery in Atlanta. I was formerly represented by Althea Viafora Gallery and Information Gallery in NYC, and ID Galerie in Düsseldorf, Germany. I have presented solo projects at the Jersey City Museum, P.S. 1 Museum, and White Columns, as well as being included in group shows in Atlanta, New Orleans, NYC, Cologne, and Paris. I was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Grant, and Fellowship Residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Cite International des Arts (Paris), Hambidge Center, and the P.S. 1.
