I am a self-taught fiber artist who transforms fabric into stories that honor memory, heritage, and joy. After decades in corporate marketing and nonprofit leadership, I began this creative journey in retirement, guided by a lifelong love of sewing and a passion for African American art. My process blends intuition with design discipline, layering color, pattern, and texture to create quilts that radiate warmth and connection. Hand-stitching serves as both a tactile signature and a tribute to the generations of women in my family whose quiet resourcefulness inspired me. I focus on themes of family, faith, and shared cultural experiences, intentionally choosing imagery that uplifts and affirms our humanity. Each composition invites viewers to pause, remember, and see themselves reflected in the work. By merging traditional craft with contemporary storytelling, I strive to carry forward a lineage of African American visual expression and create art that bridges past and present.
