"You Can't Fool Me" emerged from my ongoing exploration of portraiture, but this time was born entirely from my imagination. This work embodies a spirit of awareness and resistance, a refusal to be swayed by the constant barrage of noise and misinformation that defines our current social and political landscape. Using fragments of up-cycled dinnerware and text, including the phrases "You Can't Fool Me" and "not even for a moment," I weave a visual language of defiance and empowerment into her hair, transforming familiar domestic materials into symbols of strength and perception. The piece invites viewers to pause, look closely, and question what they accept as truth. Like much of my work, it's both personal and universal, anchored in storytelling, yet open to interpretation. Through this piece, I aim to capture that moment of inner strength when clarity cuts through confusion and intuition refuses to be silenced.
