Objects excite the imagination and contain echoes of a lifetime. My most recent cycle of paintings pair objects with pattern. As the central characters, the objects in these compositions are memory keys - reminders of home. By reengaging with the relics of the past, I recognize and elevate these items. The background of each composition is based on an alteration of a fragment of vintage fabric. The original designs were woven into textiles within the cotton mills of Rock Hill, SC. The interwoven aspect of these patterns is a nod to living in community and the importance of being known.
