Motherhood in celebration and motherhood in crisis. This work reflects on the duality of motherhood: the profound joy and privilege of celebrating my daughters' milestones and health, contrasted with the awareness that this is not always the motherhood others experience. The mylar balloons, collected from birthdays and celebrations, are quilted into a receiving blanket and backed with a mylar emergency blanket. Though both layers are made with the same material, they create a dichotomy between comfort and crisis.
